The round Valede storage basket brings joy to any space and can be used to house a variety of things due to its larger size. Our handcrafted baskets radiate the rich spirit of the women of Iran; that of life, passion and tradition. Created in bright, cheerful colours that reflect the emotion of the artisan who created it, every piece tells its own story. Chevron patterns are woven into each basket and a pom pom topped lid adds a playful touch. Crafted with love by female artisans in Persia using date palm leaves and kertak.
The Valede, named after the source and origin, translates as the Mother of our collection.

Zan Artefacts is passionate about craftsmanship and celebrates community creating productive employment throughout Iran. We are proud of the artisans we work with, some of whom who are among the first in their village to have an opportunity to work, earn a living using a respected skillset and give back to their families and community.
Zan Artefacts is committed to equality and was founded to offer a means of support to women throughout Iran where their rights have been restricted since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Working with Zan offers our female artisans a sense of freedom, security and financial independence. We partner directly with our talented craftswomen and have formed secure relationships with them to ensure that they are paid fairly and safely without going through husbands or fathers.
