Preparing for Persian New Year is always an exciting time! Nowruz which means 'new day' is a true celebration of spring, beginning when the length of day and night are almost equal.
Traditionally, Nowruz festivities last for 13 days culminating with a glorious picnic; an opportunity for family and friends to gather and share their love and thoughts for the future. Gastronomy in fact takes centre stage throughout, with a focus on vibrant dishes full of warm herbs and spices and a magnificent rice plate along with delicate pastries and date filled cookies as a symbol of hope and sweet wishes for the year to come.
